During my study of Matthew Chapter 11, as Jesus went to eat with a group of Pharisees, they invited Him to find fault in Jesus that he may be charged. So they asked Him questions, and He spoke according to their hearts’ intent. This intent of the Pharisee’s heart was revealed to Jesus by the Holy Spirit. In this dining event, the Pharisees did not get satisfied with the replies of Jesus. They even found themselves divided. They laid a trap and fell into it themselves.
Can an apple tree without alteration produce lemons? Can we speak evil, hate, jealousy, and envy from our mouths and say that we are good? We should then repent and be forgiven and ask for the help of the Holy Spirit to speak right that our very words will not lead to our own condemnation. We can be forgiven for all things except one thing, according to the Bible. Many debates on this one thing. But I believe it is never to accept Jesus and continuously reject the Holy Spirit unto death. Once that happens, there is no forgiveness after death. The time to accept Jesus is now. Of course, it is debatable, and that is not my point. My point is there is freedom in forgiving—freedom in releasing others from the prison of your mind. I often say this, If you hold someone in the prison of the mind, you are the warden. If you are the warden, then you are in prison as well. Neither one of you are truly free in your mind. But the worst thing could be that that person doesn’t know or care that you haven’t forgiven them. Then you are a warden in an empty prison watching an imaginary person suffer. Yet you are suffering because you are really under the control of the imaginary person you are watching. Sounds crazy, doesn’t it? But think about it.
Let us then ask for forgiveness from God. Let us forgive others. Let us forgive ourselves that these words we speak will bring life and not death. Be Free from Sin
